I still remember quite vividly, when I was 7 years old, I knew few names... Madonna, Charles Chaplin etc. At that time I did not even understand English language. Then from where did I get those names? Of course, I heard from my friends while playing with them. It was 1989, when there were no computers, no internet, no awareness about BBC and CNN [it was a village], and still we knew their names, they were global stars and I was witness and testimony to the same. These artist's global stardom is still unbelievable to me. I have a very distinct memory of one of them visiting Bombay and the mega buzz around that event those days.
Today, I want to respect and admire one of them, who won fan base in Billions and partly defined a pop culture and thus the history of music for more than four decades. To my extreme disappointment, that flamboyant hair style and gold-plated military style jacket is not living with us anymore. I have explored a lot of music but the first five seconds of Billie Jeans' Baseline starts giving me goosebumps like nothing else do, and when I watch the video I feel like I am in the neverland that was mastered by The King of Pop, ever wondefull, flamboyant and sensational, The Michael Jackson.
